Hale pitches shutout at Keokuk

Logan Hale threw a one-hit shutout last Friday night as he led Davis County to a 5-0 win over Keokuk in non-conference action. Hale struck out one and walked none as the Mustang defense backed him up nicely to get the win. Davis County returns to action Monday night traveling to Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont. The junior varsity game begins at 5 p.m. followed by the varsity game.

Lady Mustangs beat Moulton-Udell Friday

The Lady Mustang softball team capped off a successful week of games with a 12-0 shutout win over Moulton-Udell. Davis County had 11 hits and took advantages of five errors to get the win. Davis County returns to action Moncday night with games at Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont. Action begins at 4:30 p.m. with the freshman game. The junior varsity and varsity games will follow.

Mustangs rally to beat Chariton, face Keokuk Friday

The Mustang baseball team battled back from a 4-2 defict to beat Chariton Thursday night 6-4. Davis County rallied for four runs in the top of the seven inning to win the game. Caleb Cowles led Davis County going 2 of 4 from the plate. Cowles also had a bases-clearing RBI triple in the seventh that was responsible for scoring three of those four runs. Davis County returns to action Friday night traveling to Keokuk for a non-conference game. Action begins at 5:30 p.m. with the junior varsity game. The varsity game will follow.

Lady Mustang host Breast Cancer Awareness game Friday night

The Lady Mustang softball team will host Moulton-Udell Friday night in the annual Breast Cancer Awareness game. Davis County will dress in pink uniforms in honor of the event. the team will also be working together with the Davis County Hospital's Walk for Life to promote breast cancer awareness. The evening will also be used as a fundraiser for the Walk for Life. FRiday night's game will begin at 6 p.m. with the junior varsity game. The varsity game will follow. Friday night's game and the remainder of the softball team's home schedule will be played at the Charlie Rupe Field located south of Pizza Hut. The team has been displaced because of the construction taking place at Mustang Stadium.

Lady Mustangs beat Chariton

The Lady Mustang softball team scored a 9-0 shutout victory over Chariton Thursday night. Davis County led 4-0 going into the top of the seven when the girls rallied for five more, also taking advantage of six Chariton errors. Bailea Yahnke led the team going 4 of 4 from the plate with three RBIs.
